Sunny Workday Wind Down with Carl Leander Johnson

Hey guys, I’m supposed to do a bio on myself, so here it goes with the intent of not sounding cheesy. My name is Carl Leander Johnson, and yes, I go by both names, so feel free to call me either Carl or Leander. I’m 22 years old (March 7th, 1991) and am originally from Negaunee, MI. I graduated from Negaunee High School in 2009 and now attend Northern Michigan University where I’m studying an assortment of subjects.

I’m a sports guy through and through. Every season has something to offer me. Winter/Spring has the Los Angeles Lakers & Detroit Redwings for me, summer revolves around my Tigers, and then there’s fall, which I’m convinced is a shortening of the word football, lets me bleed Green & Gold for the Packers.

While sports is my passion, I also thoroughly enjoy music and the fine arts. I play the trumpet, piano, and I pretend to play guitar. I was in the NMU marching band for four years and was also a part of the jazz band for a couple semesters.

I started out at Great Lakes Radio back in August, so I’m pretty new to the radio scene. I also announce/broadcast the Negaunee Miners’ football & basketball games for SunnyFM which has always been a great interest of mine, so you’ll always get my best effort if you’re ever in the position of having to listen to me.
