Marquette, MI — United Way of Marquette County is offering an unforgettable opportunity for local hockey players: The chance to take the ice on the Detroit Red Wings Alumni roster during Marquette County Hockey Night, happening Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 7:00pm at the Berry Events Center. Two lucky players will join the Red Wings Alumni Team — but there’s a catch. To earn a spot, players must be among the top two fundraisers supporting United Way of Marquette County. Whether through sponsorships, individual donations, or community outreach, every dollar raised gets players one step closer to lacing up alongside Red Wings legends.
How It Works:
• Donations must be submitted with the nominated player’s name to count toward their total.
• Contributions can be made via Venmo (@UNITEDWAYMQT) or by cash/check delivered to the United Way of Marquette County office (1414 W. Fair Ave #26, Marquette, MI 49855).
• Fundraising closes at midnight on August 31st.
• The top fundraiser will officially be added to the Red Wings Alumni roster, with the second-highest fundraiser also earning a coveted spot on the team.
• Winners will be announced on Tuesday, September 2nd.
“This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime chance,” said Andrew Rickauer, United Way of Marquette County Executive Director. “Not only will the winners skate with some of the most iconic players in Red Wings history, but they’ll also be making a huge impact right here in Marquette County by supporting United Way’s vital community programs.” Fans and community members are encouraged to support their favorite players, donate generously, and help bring the community together for this exciting night of hockey, fun, and giving back.
