
Marquette, MI – February 11, 2026 – Preparations are continuing for the annual running of the UP 200, Midnight Run and Jackpine 30 sled dog races this weekend. Opening Ceremonies for the UP 200 and the Midnight Run start Friday at 6:30pm in downtown Marquette.
Bradford said as part of the preparations for the start of the races, downtown streets will be closed off starting late Thursday. The city is closing off Washington Street from Front Street to Lakeshore Boulevard at 10:30pm that night.
Then starting at 5:00am Friday, Washington Street will be closed from Front Street to Sixth Street as crews begin trucking in snow to lay the track for the starting ceremonies.
Bradford said there will be thousands attending the ceremonies and downtown merchants and business groups are hosting several events for spectators to check out. The city says the downtown closure will remain in effect until 4:00am Saturday. Find out more at the Marquette DDA website and the UP200 website.
