As most of you know, I LOVE to cook and experiment in the kitchen. It started when I was in 4th grade and (remember these days) I walked home to eat lunch during the school day. My Mom had just accepted a part-time job at our church and was no longer at home during lunch so I was on my own.
It created a passion for cooking which I have to this day.
One Saturday about 7 years ago I decided that BBQ Chicken was what I wanted to make for dinner. The problem….no BB Sauce in the house of any kind. So, as any self-respecting hack would do, I started to make my own. Over the next several years I experimented with everything you can think of and came up with some just HORRIBLE results!
One day I decided that “less is more.” It was time to keep it simple. And I came up with one of the best BBQ Sauces ever – with only 3 ingredients. THREE!!
1 Cup Bourbon (boil out the alcohol slowly – about 15 minutes)
1 Cup Regular Ketchup
1 Cup Brown Sugar
Combine and simmer for an hour to thicken (you can Corn Starch to thicken if you like)
It’s sweet, tangy and best of all…..EASY!
