Marquette, MI – June 29, 2020 – In the summer, one of my favorite things to do is to play tennis. I’m not particularly good at it, but it’s one of the few fun forms of exercise, so I try to play as often as I can. This past weekend was the first match of the year between my dad and me.
It was a particularly warm Saturday afternoon at the Sands Township tennis courts, with almost no wind to speak of, so by the end of the match I had gone through two bottles of water and another of Gatorade (maybe a bad day to wear a black shirt). I ended up winning our best-of-three-sets match, 6-3 6-4, and despite my sore legs the next morning, I’m already looking forward to next time.
