Negaunee Miners Shutout Hancock Bulldogs 44-0

Hancock, MI – September 26th, 2025- The Miners traveled to the Copper Country for a matchup against the Hancock Bulldogs, aiming to rebound after back-to-back losses. However, they faced a setback as starting quarterback, Kyle Waterman, was sidelined due to an injury sustained in the previous game. Owen Cardinal stepped in to lead the offense in Waterman’s absence.

The Miners struck first, dominating the Bulldogs on the ground. Bonovetz opened the scoring with a touchdown and added a two-point conversion, putting the Miners up 8-0. He found the end zone again on the next drive, extending the lead. Negaunee controlled the entire first half, heading into the break with a commanding 38-0 advantage. The defense was relentless, tallying an interception, two fumble recoveries, and two sacks.

In the second half, it was much slower, with only six points being added to the scoreboard. Miners recovered another fumble, totaling three fumble recoveries. Miners were able to get many younger players into the game. Miners dominated from the jump and never looked back, having five different players reach the endzone.
