
Marquette, MI – December 15, 2022 – A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the central U.P. through this afternoon with some heavy, wet snow and high winds.
As a result of expected weather conditions through the day, multiple school districts in Marquette and Baraga Counties are closed today.
At last report, however, Northern Michigan University is open for classes.
The National Weather Service says snow accumulations of 2 to 5 inches are expected, with the least along the Lake Superior shoreline in Marquette and Baraga Counties. Winds will be gusting as high as 40 to 45 mph.
