Marquette, MI – July 12, 2021 – The Marquette City Commission has a busy agenda for their regular meeting tonight.
Kovacs said the Commission is holding a public hearing on a proposed brownfield plan for the redevelopment of the Old Marquette Savings Bank on S. Front Street and adjacent property on S. Lakeshore Boulevard.
That project would convert the Savings Bank building into a boutique hotel and build about 70,000 square feet of new buildings for additional hotel rooms, commercial and residential units and a 200-space parking facility.
Kovacs added that the Commission is also voting on a pair of ordinances. One regulating open burning at Presque Isle Park, and another that sets rules for street performers within the city limits.
The meeting is open to the public and begins at 6:00 p.m. at Commission Chambers at Marquette City Hall.
