Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Marquette Area Public Schools are inviting everyone; students, parents, staff and community, past and present, to come to the 3rd Annual MAPS Tailgate Party.

MAPS Superintendent Bill Saunders and Event Organizer Tesse Sayen joined the Sunny Morning Show today to talk about what’s going on at the party.

Saunders says it’s coming up on Friday, August 24th, when the football season gets underway as Marquette hosts Traverse City-St.Francis at the William R. Hart Stadium, next to the High School.

Sayen said the free Tailgate Party will feature music, food, activities, kid’s games, various vendors and more.

She said there will also be an event introducing the Fall boy’s and girl’s sports teams, which is a great chance for the public to connect with all of Marquette’s high school athletes.

The Tailgate Party will start at 5:30 p.m., on the MSHS practice field, with the kickoff of the Varsity Football game at 7:00 p.m.
