What kind of a question is that? It doesn’t even make sense. A pickle is a messy situation so my answer is no, I have never been TO a pickle. I have been in a pickle now and then but found it dill….dull.
The word pickled came to mind because the Spring Ferment is taking place this weekend at the Lakeview arena and many fermented beverages will be served up for your consideration. Sunny FM gave tickets away for this event and I want to remind you that the fun begins in three days. To refresh your memory the Spring Ferment celebrates and sells all that is in a sense… pickled. Fermented. Preserved and set aside for those who reserved tickets.
Those who took the time to soak and brine will feature their beers, wines, ciders, kombuchas, and cheeses Saturday from 1-6 at the Lakeview Arena. Proceeds will go towards charitable organizations. Food vendors will be on site and it’s a great way to jump into spring.
I make kombucha. It’s delicious and healthy. It also looks like a science project that somehow went very wrong! That however, is to the untrained eye. Kombucha is a beautiful thing….even if it does remind me of the old movies where the mad scientist created a monster out of the growing globs contained in oversize glass containers… in the basement.
(Ahhhh, at the moment I actually do have kombucha growing in a glass container…in the basement.)
Celebrate the art and taste of all that’s fermented at the 2018 Spring Ferment Saturday. Be responsible and don’t drive pickled. (Sorry. I couldn’t help myself on that one)
Join me every day on the http://Workday Wind Down from 3-7!
