Marquette, MI – March 25, 2026 – On our latest edition of Wildcat Wednesday, Northern Michigan University Police Chief and Safety Director Mike Bath talked about the recent high number of weather-related closures of the university.
Bath spoke about it with Mark & Walt in the Morning.
Bath said recent blizzards and other strong winter weather conditions have resulted in 10 campus closures this year since January, adding eight have been days affecting the academic calendar.
He talked about the process he and the NMU team go through to determine how and why the decision is made to close for the day.
Bath also commented on what impact the high number of closures may have on the NMU calendar.
