Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The recognition of SUNNY fm by the Michigan Association of Broadcasters as Station of the Year has been honored by U.P. lawmakers and Governor Rick Snyder.
109th District State Representative John Kivela presented a special tribute to the staff of SUNNY fm this week when he stopped in for an interview on The SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike.
The tribute, signed by Kivela, State Senator Tom Casperson and Governor Snyder commemorates the recent success of a wide range of programs on SUNNY and the many years of service to Marquette County.
The tribute recognizes SUNNY fm for “The positive example that it consistently sets as an advocate of quality news, features and sports reporting.”
The station was recognized recently with a total of 9 Broadcast Excellence Awards and the Station of the Year honor at the annual MAB Conference in Lansing.
The legislative tribute adds, “It is encouraging to know that the efforts and expertise of WKQS-FM are meeting a high standard and are being recognized by others.”
