
Negaunee, Michigan January 13th, 2016 – The Negaunee Miners Boys Basketball Team hosted the Ishpeming Hematites in a rivalry game. Jesse Anderson and Brady Guilbault were there to bring you all the exciting action from the U.P. Propane Broadcast Booth, on Sunny.FM.
Dylan Tasson was first to score for the Negaunee Miners tonight to give them a 2-0 lead early in the first quarter against the Ishpeming Hematites. Dre Tuominen and Trent Bell quickly followed suit to contribute 8 more points to give the Miners a 10-2 lead. The Negaunee Miners brought their “A” game and maintained a 24-11 lead to end the first quarter against the Ishpeming Hematites.
The Ishpeming Hematites were first to score in the second quarter with two free throw shots to trail the Miners 24-13. The Negaunee Miners continued to dominate the game and led 32-16 with the second quarter half over. The Negaunee Miners stunned the Hematites with their offensive production during the first half of play and maintained a sizable lead 38-22 going into the second half.

The Ishpeming Hematites started the second half with the ball and were first to score to trail 38-24 against the Miners. The game continued to be fast paced and the Negaunee Miners pushed a 45-26 lead over the Ishpeming Hematites with 3 minutes left in the quarter. The Ishpeming Hematites had a scoring run late in the third and trailed 45-32 to the Miners at the end of the quarter.
The Ishpeming Hematites continued to battle the Negaunee Miners and cut their lead to 45-36 to start the fourth quarter. The Negaunee Miners rallied halfway through the fourth quarter and widened their to 54-38. The Negaunee Miners wrapped this game up with a commanding win over the Ishpeming Hematites 66-44 and improve their winning record to 9-0.
