Marquette, MI    November 6, 2015  – As you finish up this week and life might be feeling a little gloomy with the gray of the clouds, consider looking up tonight instead of down at your feet!

Over the last few nights the Taurid meteor shower has been flaming in the sky. On November 2nd, I was out with some friends at the top of Sugarloaf Mountain looking for the Aurora. While we were there, we saw at least four different meteors burn up in the atmosphere! With the average meteor fall during the Taurid shower being about 7 meteors per hour, you have a great chance to see an astronomical amount of meteors. It’s said this meteor shower is supposed to product real fireballs!

If you’re looking for something to do this evening, head down to one of the Marquette’s many beaches, or take a trip up a hill and look for some meteors and fireballs!

Leave a comment if you’ve seen anything cool in the sky lately!
