Protecting Your Lower Back With Active PT’s Joel Kangas

Joel Kangas, Physical Therapist with Active Physical Therapy’s AdvantEdge location in Marquette, shared some tips with Mark & Walt in the Morning.

Kangas explained why it’s important to talk about protection of the low back today and shared what it means to “bend and lift” properly.  He added that being strong in the back helps someone do these techniques properly and outlined how can someone test the strength of their back muscles.

Kangas also laid out how weakness in the legs and core and impact the lower back and discussed other factors may contribute to improper back position during bending and lifting.
