
Marquette, MI – January 29, 2026 – On our latest update from Active Physical Therapy, we heard about maintaining good joint health.
McDowell explained that maintaining good joint health can satart with doing low impact exercises to maintain joint health, decrease wear and tear and improve cardiovascular and strength.
He also said it’s good to avoid being sedentary and to avoid sitting or standing still for too long; avoid sitting for more than 1-2 hours at a time while awake.
McDowell added that it’s a good thing to maintain a healthy lifestyle by eating right and not smoking and to make sure you incorporate some type of musculoskeletal strengthening exercises at least a few times per week to decrease strain put on joints during daily tasks.
