Marquette, MI – September 3, 2025 – On our latest Upper Peninsula Health Plan Update, UPHP Clinical Coordinator Renee Anderton focused on the flu and flu vaccine and why you should get one.
She talked about reasons why it is important to get your annual flu shot and reminded listeners it offers time-tested protection to help build immunity if someone gets the flu.
Anderton said the flu can affect people of all ages. That’s why everyone aged 6 months and older is recommended to get the flu shot each year. This also helps protect those who can’t get vaccinated, like infants under 6 months old.
She encouraged those unsure as to “What’s Your Why?” about getting the flu shot to reach out to their Primary Care Provider to have their questions answered and concerns addressed.
Anderton added that you can get some good information at GetMyFluShot.org.
