Marquette, MI – August 5, 2025 – On our latest Upper Peninsula Health Plan update, we heard more about this year’s Know Where To Go – Appropriate Emergency Room Use Campaign.
They explained that the campaign is a community-focused education initiative, lead by Upper Peninsula Health Group & Upper Peninsula Health Plan to help residents in navigating healthcare options.
Laurila and Schroederus said the effort collaborates with primary and specialty care providers across the U.P. to help people make informed healthcare decisions.
They said that the campaign was launched due to an increase misuse of ER for non emergency issues and it aims to redirect patients to appropriate care settings. They added that it promotes timely and effective healthcare choices, ensures proper care and protects emergency services.
