Marquette, MI – November 7, 2024 – On our latest Upper Peninsula Health Plan update, we learned more about diabetes as November is National Diabetes Month.
Mary Walters, LPN, Diabetes Clinical Coordinator at UPHP, spoke about the condition and more with Mark & Walt in the Morning.
Walters explained what diabetes is and what the main differences between Type I and Type II diabetes are.
She also talked about the common risk factors for diabetes and prediabetes and what we can do to screen for it and treat it if diagnosed.
Walters also shared some good information about how we can work to prevent it in the first place, and what some of the consequences are of untreated diabetes.
