Marquette, MI – October 8, 2024 – On our latest update from Upper Peninsula Health Plan, UPHP Clinical Coordinator Renee Anderton shared some good insights about the flu and flu vaccine.
She said the flu can affect people of all ages. That’s why everyone aged 6 months and older is recommended to get the flu shot each year. This also helps protect those who can’t get vaccinated, like infants under 6 months old.
Anderton also reminded listeners that the flu vaccine offers protection to help build immunity in people who get the shot and how it helps in reducing complications if someone gets the flu.
She encouraged anyone seeking a flu shot to reach out to their Primary Care Provider to have their questions answered and concerns addressed.
