Marquette, MI – August 14, 2024 – On our latest Active Physical Therapy update, we heard about the special relationship between local orthopedic surgeons and physical therapists and how it benefits local residents.
Dr. Zachary Leonard, M.D., Joint Replacement/Hip, Knee Ankle Surgeon at Advanced Center for Orthopedics and Plastic Surgery in Marquette, and Joel Kangas, Physical Therapist and Athletic Trainer with Active Physical Therapy at their Marquette Clinic talked about several aspects of the relationship.
Leonard and Kangas joined Walt Lindala this week on Mark & Walt in the Morning.
Dr. Leonard talked about what surgical options are available locally for orthopedic patient needs. He also outlined technology advances he is using to assist people in getting home quickly and safely with good outcomes after surgery.
Kangas shared how physical therapy clinics support both surgical and non-surgical orthopedic patients in our area and how local providers work together in the local health system.
The pair also emphasized why it is important to keep things local with health care and treatment.
