November 7, 2023 – Marquette, MI – Upper Peninsula Health Plan has rolled out the 2023 Breathe Better Campaign to offer support to people who use commercial tobacco products and want to quit.
Price said the focus of the campaign is to encourage community members to speak with their health care provider about quitting smoking or vaping or any of the various commercial tobacco products.
She added that quitting can be hard, and even if someone is not ready to quit today, it’s good to have a conversation with their provider to be prepared for if and when they are ready to quit.
Price also shared information about resources available to people who want to quit, including the Michigan Tobacco Quitline, which is free.
Anyone can call the Quitline at 1-800-QUIT-NOW, or 1-800-784-8669, to speak with a certified tobacco cessation specialist.
