Marquette, MI – October 4, 2023 – On our latest Upper Peninsula Health Plan Update, UPHP Clinical Coordinator Renee Anderton focused on the flu and flu vaccine.
She also reminded listeners that the flu vaccine offers time-tested protection to help build immunity in people who get the shot and how it can help in reducing complications if someone gets the flu.
Anderton said the flu can affect people of all ages. That’s why everyone aged 6 months and older is recommended to get the flu shot each year. This also helps protect those who can’t get vaccinated, like infants under 6 months old.
She encouraged those unsure about getting the flu shot to reach out to your Primary Care Provider to have their questions answered and concerns addressed.
