Marquette, MI – May 5, 2023 – Upper Peninsula Health Plan is getting out vital information for people about the Michigan Medicaid renewal process.
Helppi explained that during the COVID pandemic the Michigan stopped the Medicaid renewal process.
This meant that those who were currently members of a Medicaid health plan such as Medicaid, MIChild, or the Healthy Michigan Plan, didn’t have to submit information to determine if they were still eligible for Medicaid coverage.
She explained that has now changed and renewals will take place monthly beginning in June 2023 and running through May 2024 and what to do to protect one’s coverage under Medicaid, MIChild, or the Healthy Michigan Plan.
Helppi outlined multiple steps that people must take to make sure their coverage continues.
She added that anyone with questions about the Medicaid renewal process, people can call the Beneficiary Help Line at 1-800-642-3195 or the TTY line at 1-866-501-5656, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
