Active Physical Therapy’s Sydnie Mazurek Explains Cervical Radiculopathy

Marquette, MIDecember 27, 2022 – On our latest update from Active Physical Therapy, we heard more about cervical radiculopathy with Sydnie Mazurek, Physical Therapist at Active’s Ishpeming clinic.

Mazurek spoke about the condition today on Mark & Walt in the Morning.

Mazurek said cervical radiculopathy is an irritation or compression of a nerve root as it leave the spinal canal that can be caused by
disk herniation, degenerative changes of the spine, a history of trauma and more.

She explained that the most common symptoms, including neck pain, radiating arm pain and sensory changes that feel like a “pins and needles” sensation along with headaches and other pain.

Mazurek also outlined methods of diagnosing the condition and a series of treatment options, including physical therapy and education about it to help with it’s management.
