Marquette, MI – August 2, 2022 – On our latest Upper Peninsula Health Plan Update, we heard more about National Immunization Awareness Month, which is underway.
Ely said the month is geared to highlight the importance of getting recommended vaccines throughout life, and serves to remind community members to call their health care providers and get up to date for their health and the health of our community.
She also talked about how getting vaccinated helps our communities stay healthy as a whole, and how the month of August is a perfect time of year to get vaccinated as the school year is just around the corner.
Ely also shared some information about how people can find out what immunizations they need, and what steps people of all ages should take to get up to date on immunizations.
She closed with by saying it’s important to talk to your child’s health care team about any routine immunizations your child may have missed, but don’t forget to talk to yours as well to schedule any immunizations, appointments, or screenings you or your child may have missed.
