Marquette, MI – April 30, 2021 – 109th District State Representative Sara Cambensy is weighing in on Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s plan to roll back COVID-19 restrictions by linking them to vaccination rates in the state.
The Marquette Democrat says the plan, which was announced yesterday morning by the Governor, came as somewhat of a surprise to her and other lawmakers, but she sees it’s value.
Cambensy says she does have some issues, though, with parts of the plan, including tying the loosening of restrictions to the vaccination rates by region around the state.
She added that she believes local health departments and other local medical experts should have a larger role in determining the rollback of restrictions within communities because they have a better sense of the virus in their areas.
