Gladstone, Michigan – Friday September 8th, 2017- The Negaunee Miners Football Team traveled to Gladstone, Michigan tonight to face the Gladstone Braves, in their 3rd game of the season. Mark Evans and Gregg Nelson were there to bring you all the action LIVE on Sunny.FM.
The Negaunee Miners kicked off to the Gladstone Braves to start the game. The Gladstone Braves offense was strong to start, but the Negaunee Miners were able to stop the drive and regain the ball with just under 8 minutes left in the quarter. The Miners had some good plays during their opening drive, but turned the ball over on downs. The Gladstone Braves were able to convert their next possession into points, with a touchdown from 55 yards out. The first quarter ended with the Gladstone Braves leading against the Negaunee Miners 7-0.
The Negaunee Miners had the ball at their own 40 yard line to start the second quarter, but lost possession on the drive. The Negaunee Miners had some set backs during the second quarter and remained scoreless against the Braves. The Braves were able to convert two of their possession into touchdowns and led 20-0 at the end of the first half of play on Sunny.FM.
The Negaunee Miners received the ball to start the second half and had great drive, but were stopped on the Braves 38 yard line. The Gladstone Braves marched down the field on their first possession of the half and scored another touchdown and with the extra point good led 27-0 nearing the end of the third quarter. The Braves were able to score one more touchdown near the end of the quarter, Darren Johnson scored from 56 yards out and put the Braves up 35-0 after they made their 2 point conversion.
The Miners had the ball to start the fourth quarter, and the clock was running. The Miners were able to move the football, but turned it over the on downs. The Gladstone Braves were able to score another touchdown and 2 point conversion in the fourth quarter, to widen their lead and win this game 43-0 against the Negaunee Miners on Sunny.FM.
