Westwood, MI – October 04, 2024 – After a huge homecoming victory last week, the Negaunee High School Football team entered tonight’s game against the Westwood Patriots eager to keep their winning streak alive. Announcers Carl Leander Johnson and Brad Saatio were on the call live from the stadium on Sunny 101.9, bringing all the action to listeners.
Negaunee High School Football made a statement early, scoring the night’s first touchdown and showing they were ready for another big win. The Westwood Patriots quickly responded, however, with a touchdown of their own, keeping it a one-point game. The first half then became a fierce tug of war, with both teams demonstrating their strength and endurance, keeping the game evenly matched. With less than ten minutes remaining in the first half, Negaunee High School Football took the lead with a crucial touchdown, but the game remained close until the Miners shifted into high gear. The Miners dominated the final minutes of the half, scoring touchdown after touchdown, pushing the halftime score to Negaunee 29-6 over the Westwood Patriots.
As the second half began, both teams pressed into their opponent’s territory but could not break through with touchdowns early on. The intensity on the field was high, with every play showing just how much effort both sides were putting in. The Westwood Patriots’ quarterback sustained an injury, giving Negaunee High School Football an opening, which they quickly capitalized on with another touchdown. Although Westwood fought back, their efforts weren’t enough to overcome the Miners’ momentum, sealing the win for Negaunee High School Football.
