Negaunee, MI – September 13, 2024 – The Negaunee High School Football team came out of the gates with high energy and intensity as they faced off against the Hancock Bulldogs, setting the tone for an unforgettable Homecoming game. The Miners wasted no time, securing a first down right off the bat, showcasing their explosive offense. Hancock struggled to keep pace, as they shot themselves in the foot with difficulty holding blocks and containing Negaunee High School Football’s relentless attack.
The Miners pushed through the Bulldogs’ defense with ease, lighting up the scoreboard with two quick touchdowns before the end of the first quarter. By the time the quarter ended, Negaunee High School Football was up 14-0, with Brady Mager delivering a highlight-worthy run, making four players miss him as he danced his way down the field! Mager’s big play potential kept the Bulldogs on edge throughout the game. Weston Yesney added to Negaunee High School Football’s commanding lead with two touchdowns in the first quarter alone, pushing the score to 21-0. The Miners were on fire, set for their highest-scoring game of the season, and Ian Ankstrom followed up with his second touchdown of the night, ballooning the score to 34-0 – and the first quarter hadn’t even ended yet! As the first half progressed, Negaunee High School Football continued their dominant play. While the Bulldogs managed to sneak in a touchdown, the Miners quickly responded with yet another score, bringing the halftime score to 41-6 in favor of Negaunee.
