Negaunee, Michigan– 12/28/2017– This Thursday night, the Negaunee Miners Boys stayed home to take on the Manistique Emeralds. The Miners came into this game with a 3-2 for the season while the Emeralds had a 0-4. Jesse Anderson and Brady Guilbault had all of the in-game action on Sunny.FM 101.9.
The Miners must have been a little relaxed from the Holiday break during the first quarter as their performance was a little lackluster. The fouls were tied in the first quarter and the score was tied by the end of the first at 13-13. During the second quarter, it seemed like the Miners were a completely different team and they started to play towards their potential. Drew Lindberg did really well on the defensive side for the Miners and scored the most points in the first half. 46-23 was the score with the Miners in lead over the Emeralds at the half.
The second half was controlled by the Miners. Jacob Ennett and Jakson Sager had a really great third quarter for Negaunee. They were scoring 3 pointers left and right and kept a strong lead over the Emeralds. The fouls were in favor of Negaunee at the end of the third quarter and Keegan Erva scored the last points to make it a running clock. 72-29 was the score at the end of the third. Tyler Hintsala and Jake Larson were the big scorers for Negaunee in the fourth quarter. The last few seconds were spent playing keep away as the Miners won with a huge lead of 84-34. Drew Lindberg finished off the game with the most points, 17 points, for the Miners. Now the Negaunee Miners Boys basketball are 4-2 for the season!
