02/13/15 Negaunee, Michigan – The Negaunee Miners Boys Basketball team hosted their rival Ishpeming Hematites on this blustery winter night. Carl Leander Johnson, the voice of the Negaunee Miners and Jesse Anderson were there to bring you all the exciting action LIVE on Sunny.FM.
The Ishpeming Hematites had the first bucket of the game to give them a 2-0 lead. Dylan Tasson was quick to answer back and for the Negaunee Miners with a 3 point shot and gave the Miners a 3-2 lead. With 2 1/2 minutes left in the first quarter the Negaunee Miners scored 2 straight buckets for 5 points and increased their lead 9-5 against the Ishpeming Hematites. The Negaunee Miners finished the first quarter with an impressive lead of 15-9 against the Hematites.

The environment of the game was exciting, and the Negaunee Miners Trent Bell scored a bucket early in the second to increase the Miners lead to 17-9. The Negaunee Miners maintained a decent lead with the 5 minutes left in the first half 19-13 against the Ishpeming Hematites on Sunny.FM. The Negaunee Miners ended the second quarter with a 9 point lead 26-17.
The Ishpeming Hematites were first to score going into the third quarter and decreased the Miners lead to 26-19. The Negaunee Miners continued to maintain the lead 30-21 against the Ishpeming Hematites with 3 minutes left of play in the third quarter. The third quarter ended with the Negaunee Miners on top 32-24 over the Ishpeming Hematites.
Rob Loy scored a 3 point shot for the Miners early in the fourth quarter to give them a 10 point lead against the Ishpeming Hematites 35-25. The Hematites were quick to answer the Mines with a 4 point run and trailed 35-29. The Negaunee Miner quickly rallied and increased their lead 42-29 with 5 minutes left in the game. The Negaunee Miners came out the victors in the game with a huge win 53-36 over the Hematites on Sunny.FM.
