01/22/15 Negaunee, Michigan – The Negaunee Miners Boys Basketball team hosted the Norway Knights tonight. Carl Leander Johnson, the voice of the Negaunee Miners and Jesse Anderson were there to bring you all the exciting action on Sunny.FM.
Dylan Tasson was the first to put point on the board tonight to give the Negaunee Miners a 2-0 lead against the Norway Knights. The Negaunee Miners were able to maintain the lead 6-3 with quarter half. The Norway Knights tied the score 6-6 with 3 minutes left in the quarter. The first quarter ended with both teams tied 8-8.
The Negaunee Miners struggled offensively in the beginning of the second quarter and the Norway Knights took their first lead of the game 11-8. The Negaunee Miners regained the lead 15-13 with 4 minutes left in the first half against the Norway Knights on Sunny.FM. The Norway Knights came to play tonight and tied the score late in the second quarter 19-19, but the Negaunee Miners scored a basket in the last second to regain the lead 21-19 to the Norway Knights.
The Negaunee Miners came out big early in the third quarter and took a 7 point lead, 26-19 against the Norway Knights. The Norway Knights came back within 5 points of the Negaunee Miners halfway through the quarter to trail 30-25. The Negaunee Miners were able to pull away and led with their biggest lead of the night 34-25 with 2 minutes left in the third against the Knights. The third quarter ended with the Negaunee Miners leading the way 36-28 against the Norway Knights in Negaunee, Michigan.
The Negaunee Miners started out the fourth quarter with a double digit lead 38-28 against the Norway Knights. The Norway Knights fought their way to catch the Negaunee Miners and trailed by 6 points with 2 minutes left in the game. The Negaunee Miners held onto the lead and emerged from the game victorious 47-39 against the Norway Knights.
