01/09/15 Negaunee, Michigan – The Negaunee Miners Girls Basketball team hosted the Manistique Emeralds tonight in Negaunee, Michigan. Jesse Anderson was there to bring you all the exciting action from the court, LIVE on Sunny.FM.
The tip was won by the Manistique Emeralds who were first to score in the game tonight. The Negaunee Miners were quick to answer back and tied the score 2-2 in the first minute of the game. The Negaunee Miners took the lead 5-2 against the Manistique Emeralds with a free throw from Aleda Johnson and a rebound shot from Hailee Richards, with 5 minutes left in the quarter. The Negaunee Miners were on fire and ended the quarter with a demanding lead 17-4 against the Manistique Emeralds on Sunny.FM.
The Negaunee Miners continued there hot streek in the second quarter and widen their lead to 23-4 within the first 2 minutes of the quarter. The Manistique Emeralds continued to struggle against the Negaunee Miners in the second quarter and with 3 minutes left in the first half the Negaunee Miners led 25-5. The Negaunee Miners ended the quarter with a 17 point lead, 30-13 against the Manistique Emeralds in Negaunee, Michigan.
Aleda Johnson scored two quick baskets in the beginning of the third quarter to give the Negaunee Miners a 21 point lead 34-13 against Manistique Emeralds. The Negaunee Miners continued their scoring game and ended the third quarter leading 51-21 against the Manistique Emeralds on Sunny.FM.
The Negaunee Miners Girls Basketball team were unstoppable tonight and the Manistique Emeralds were just not able to catch them. The fourth quarter of basketball action echoed the rest of the game and Negaunee Miners won 57-31 against the Manistique Emeralds in Negaunee, Michigan.
