NEGAUNEE, MI – 9/18/2014 –Coming off of their first home loss in over two years, the Negaunee Miners will need to refocus as they come back to MPC play this week. As always, the bulk of the MPC schedule will begin against Iron Mountain. Seeing as even-numbered years result in the most traveling Negaunee can do with it’s consistent schedule (@ Manistique, Calumet, Iron Mountain, & Norway), this game will take place within those dreaded yellow walls in Iron Mountain.

As a former player, there is nothing that incites a renewed sense of intensity as a loss the week before. That, coupled with the fact that the Mountaineers are one of Negaunee’s (historically) biggest rivals for MPC supremacy, makes this week a very intense week for the Miners players & coaches.
If Negaunee wants to come out on top and get back on the winning track, they need to get back to the basics. They put the ball on the ground an astounding five times against Gladstone last Friday, and the weather is no excuse. Gladstone didn’t struggle with ball security, so the Miners can only blame themselves. You know the coaches will be prepared for the game and instructing the ball carriers on how to properly take care of the ball.

Be sure to tune in tomorrow night for all of your Negaunee Miners football coverage! Pre-game will begin at 6:30 with a 7pm kickoff. Join Jesse Anderson & myself as we will cover the game from beginning to end on 101.9 fm or streaming LIVE on our website Sunny.FM!
