Negaunee Miner Girls Destroy Boyne City Ramblers 54-30

Negaunee, MiDecember 29th, 2022– The Negaunee Miner Girls were ready for action in day two of their mid-break tournament. Their fuel was further fired after watching the Neguanee Boys lose to the Boyne City Ramblers prior to their match. Carl Leander Johnson was on the scene for Sunny 101.9

The first quarter started off quickly, with Ella being the first to score a two pointer. Grace Nardi was able to score as well with some contest from Boyne City. Ella Mason scored again bringing the score to 6-4 with Negaunee leading. The Miners continue to score, Ella Mason scored eight, Theresa Anderson scored four points and Aubrey Johnson was able to score two points giving Negaunee an 11 point run and a lead of 14-3 for the first quarter.

The third quarter was intense, with Negaunee continuing to dominate Boyne City. Aubrey Johnson reached an individual score of 14. Ella Mason reached an individual score of nineteen, the highest overall in the match. Grace Nardi scored four points and Cooper Atkins scored a three pointer in the first half. 47-14

The fourth quarter finished with flare from the Negaunee Miners. Boyne City attempted to shorten the gap, but was only able to bring their score to nineteen. Seeri Helms-Gleason scored for the first time in the ballgame, bringing the Miners up to a score of 49. Ella Mason scored as well, making this a back to back match where every girl on the Miner’s team scored.
