Marquette,MI- September 1st- Today the Negaunee Miners had fun in the sun while playing The Calumet Copper Kings. Mark Evans and Gregg were on the scene to tell the story.
The first quarter was full of fast action, Ty Jacobson of the Neguanee Miners started off the match with a touchdown, and Easton Palomaki followed bringing the Miners to a score of 13-0 before the end of the first quarter.
The Second Quarter was largely uneventful, minus a 6 yard touchdown from Negaunee’s Kai Lacar. The pre-halftime score was 19-0 but quickly shifted.
Brayden Nelson scored a 56 yard touchdown, heavily aiding the Copper Kings.
During the final half, Negaunee attempted to widen the gap between them and the Copper Kings. Calumet tried to combat resulting in a final score of 15. Easton Palomaki scored and Phillip Nelson ended the game with a touchdown off of a 12 yard run, giving the Negaunee Miners the victory after a long match the last of Summer’s weather.
