Negaunee, MI – To know me is to know I’m a complete junkie for College Football Saturday’s in the Fall. I Love me my Wisconsin Badgers and Kansas State Wildcats, and I LOVE when Michigan plays Michigan State because one of them is guaranteed to lose!!
These are both small, private Division III Liberal Arts institutions in Indiana who do not have Athletic Scholarships for the players.
Since 1934 the two teams have played for one of the most coveted trophy’s in all of football – The Monon Bell. Taken off of a Micado Steam Locomotive in 1933, the bell is rung the entire duration of the game by the previous year’s winner. Once the game is over, the bell either goes home with the previous winner – or goes to the other campus for a year!
DePauw won in a thriller on a last second Touchdown on Fox Sports Indiana. And I relished every second of it! Combine that with Wisconsin beating Nebraska and Michigan beating MSU it was a great weekend!!
God Bless my addiction to this stuff!!!! And thanks to my wife Dawn for not recommending rehab or a 12 step – she just shakes her head and rides the ride!
