Statewide Effort Underway To Get More Girls And Women Interested In Technology Careers

Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Michigan has launched a new campaign called Going PRO to help employers across the state fill more than 811,000 jobs,including those in information technology and computer science careers.

Chris Rydzewski, Executive Director of the Michigan Council of Women in Technology Foundation joined the Sunny Morning Show to talk about bridging the gender gap in the technology field.

Rydzewski said it’s important to inspire girls at an early age and continue to mentor them throughout their careers.

She also talked about what the Michigan Council of Women in Technology Foundation is and it’s programs to spark young girls’ interest in IT careers.

Rydzewski also talked about identifying and overcoming the biggest obstacles to girls and women entering and staying in technology careers.
