Michigan Auto Insurance to Increase

    Great Lakes Radio News UpdateMARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News)Michigan motorists can expect to see an additional $11 added to their auto insurance policies to help cover the growing cost of the state’s unlimited lifetime medical care for auto-related injuries.

    The assessment paid by auto insurance companies to the Michigan Catastrophic Claim Association, or MCCA, is set to increase six percent July 1.

    The increase brings the total MCCA surcharge to $186 per vehicle.  The current assessment is $175, which represents a $30 increase from the previous year.
