Marquette, MI – August 26, 2026 – The Michigan Department of Transportation says the new roundabout at M-35 and County Road 492 in Negaunee Township is open to traffic.
The $6.2 million project began earlier this year to rebuild more than three miles of M-35 in Marquette County between County Road 480 and US-41.
Weingarten said the project including converting the M-35/County Road 492 intersection to a modern roundabout. He said construction work is continuing on sections of M-35 through the fall.
He also shared an update on several other projects in and around Marquette County that are underway during the summer construction season.
Weingarten said anyone hitting the roads can get the latest updates on projects around the state at the online M-DOT Mi Drive map.
