Marquette, MI – July 16, 2026 – The UP Regional Blood Center in Marquette is continuing to have a critical need for all types of blood. The Blood Center has collection sites in Marquette, Hancock and Escanaba, and it is the primary supplier of blood products to Upper Peninsula hospitals.
Blood Donor Center Manager Dana Langsford spoke about the need with Mark & Walt in the Morning.
Langsford said the critical need is a seasonal event due to people not typically donating blood as much during the summer months because of vacations, but the need still exists. He said a single donation typically takes only about an hour to complete.
To schedule an appointment or find a blood drive near you, visit the UPRBC website, or call (906) 449-1450.
