Marquette Symphony Orchestra Launching 30th Season!

Marquette, MIJuly 2, 2026 The Marquette Symphony Orchestra is kicking off their 30th season with a special outdoor concert and more!

MSO Board Member Dr. Erin Colwitz spoke about the symphony and more with Mark & Walt in the Morning.

Colwitz said the season starts off Thursday, July 9th at the new Peg Hirvonen Bandshell with a free outdoor community concert at 7:30pm featuring patriotic and pan-American favorites. She added that there will also be a cash 50/50 fundraiser raffle and concessions available for sale.

Colwitz also reminded listeners that season tickets are now available for renewal and sale through July 19th, and existing subscribers can renew their season tickets online by logging into their account at tickets.nmu.edu, calling 906-227-1032, or visiting the box office.

She also talked about the symphony accepting applications from vocalists of any age residing in Marquette County for another exciting vocal competition to feature five vocal finalists of any age who will perform with the orchestra onstage.

Colwitz said contestants should prepare one 3–5 minute video and upload it to YouTube as an unlisted video. Send the link along with your name, address, phone number, and song title to info@marquettesymphony.org. Applicants are limited to one submission. There is no fee to enter and the submission deadline is Friday, August 1, 2026
