Marquette, MI – June 24, 2026 – On our latest update with Active Physical Therapy we learned about headaches and migraines and how physical therapy can help with managing them.
Jarvi said headaches and migraines have many causes that can vary from person to person and cause irritation to our pain sensitive structures including blood vessels and nerves that result in a headache or migraine.
She explained that a physical therapist evaluation can help to identify areas of reduced range of motion or strength as well as areas of increased muscle tension, and by addressing some of these strength and motion restrictions, they can reduce the intensity and frequency of symptoms.
Jarvi stressed that therapy for headache or migraine pain can look very different depending on the person and more information can be found at the Active Physical Therapy website.
