Marquette, MI – September 17, 2025 – A public meeting is being held later this week in Escanaba to discuss a multi-million dollar road construction project in the city.
M-DOT and the City of Escanaba are hosting the session to share plans for a $31 million project to rebuild US-2 from North 30th Street to Danforth Road.
Weingarten said the project includes replacing the CN Railroad bridge, adding new turn lanes, traffic signal relocation and other improvements.
He added that the City also plans to replace water mains and other utilities as part of the project. That project will be done in several phases from Spring of 2027 to Fall of 2029.
The meeting is this Thursday at 5:00pm at the Escanaba City Council chambers.
