Marquette, MI – June 18, 2025 – Marquette’s Sunrise Maven Bugsy Sailor is planning a special community sunrise event this Saturday morning!
Sailor spoke about what he has in the works with Mark & Walt in the Morning.
Sailor said he is inviting people to join him for the Summer Solstice Sunrise on Sugarloaf this Saturday morning.
He explained that he thought it would be a fun thing to do as the sunrise this Saturday will mark Sunrise No. 2,364 that he has watched, and he realized he’d never watched a Summer Solstice sunrise atop Sugarloaf Mountain in Marquette.
Sailor added that while many think about the solstice as a day, the solstice itself is a moment, and the summer solstice 2025 occurs on Friday night, June 20th at 10:41pm. The “solstice sunrise” is the sunrise nearest to the solstice, and that is this Saturday at 5:55am.
He reminded anyone thinking of joining to remember this is, as he says, “a rain, snow or shine event” and no matter how gray the day, the sun still rises.
Sailor encouraged anyone wanting the full experience should plan their morning accordingly to join him on the top of Sugarloaf Mountain no later than 5:40am this Saturday!
