Marquette, MI – February 20, 2025 – The Marquette Police Department has opened applications for its 2025 Citizens Academy.
MPD Detective Captain Chris Aldrich spoke about the Academy with Mark & Walt in the Morning.
Aldrich explained the program gives residents the opportunity to engage with officers and learn about modern policing locally and on a wider scale.
He said those taking part will learn about law enforcement evidence and crime scene processing, de-escalation techniques, police equipment and investigative procedures.
The academy meets Wednesday nights from 6:00 to 8:00 o’clock April 16th through May 21st. Aldrich said applications can be found at www.marquettemi.gov, and anyone with any questions can reach him directly at (906) 228-0400.
