Marquette, MI – October 26, 2023 – City of Ishpeming has received word of a $20 million state investment in the city’s water infrastructure.
The City has been approved to be in the fundable range for an equally split grant and loan from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund.
Ishpeming City Manager Craig Cugini spoke about the funding today with Mark & Walt in the Morning.
Cugini said this latest funding opportunity comes on top of $16 million recently approved for similar water system improvements.
He explained that the next few months will be spent determining the exact use for the funding, but it will be going toward drinking water system upgrades.
Cugini added that public comment and input during the application process was instrumental in the City securing the $20 million.
