Marquette, MI – July 18, 2023 – The City of Ishpeming is getting the word out on a series of updates, including filling a vacancy on the City Council, gathering some public input from city residents and the opening of a new playground.
City Manager Craig Cugini spoke about these topics today with Mark & Walt in the Morning.
Cugini gave an update on the efforts to fill a vacancy on the City Council created by the recent death of Council Member Stu Skauge. The selected person will serve out the remainder of Skauge’s term into November of 2024.
He also talked about a public survey of Ishpeming city residents about a variety of topics. Interested residents can access the survey HERE.
Cugini wrapped up with information about the soft opening of a new community playground located at Spruce and Euclid near the Mining Heritage Pavilion and the plans to dedicate it to long-time Ishpeming resident and advocate Ray Leverton.
