Marquette, MI – June 12, 2023 – The Marquette City Commission has a regular meeting this evening.
Commissioners will be voting on a request for a formal review of 2020 census figures that they say under counted students at Northern Michigan University during the pandemic.
The city is seeking the review, saying the count missed about 1,000 students that should be listed on the city’s population totals.
Assistant City Manager Sean Hobbins spoke about the review today with Mark & Walt in the Morning.
Tonight’s meeting begins at 6:00 o’clock at Commission Chambers at Marquette City Hall.
